Dr. Mary O’Connor (or Dr. Mary as she likes to be called) is the 3rd youngest in a family of seven children. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of San Diego in 1983 and her D.D.S. degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago in 1987. After receiving her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Loyola in 1989, she returned to San Diego to practice. After being an associate for 4 years, she purchased the practice in 1994. She is a Diplomate in the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry having earned that title in 1994 by completing several exams and case studies in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Mary is on staff at Rady Children’s Hospital and is the Dental Director of the Anderson Center for Dental Care at Rady’s. She is a member of the San Diego County Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been married to her husband John, a 4th grade school teacher, since 1993.
She and her husband have 3 children, all of whom are in college. Besides enjoying practicing pediatric dentistry, Dr. Mary is involved in the community.
She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Academy of Our Lady of Peace High School, the University of San Diego Alumni Board, Noah Homes’ Board of Directors and Rest Haven Children’s Health Fund. She has been a member of a women’s book club since 1991 and loves to garden and cook.
